Session 1: Overview of physiologic changes that occur during perimenopause and menopause. Deep dive into one of the most common symptoms: hot flashes! Identify actionable lifestyle strategies, such as diet, exercise, and stress management, to proactively support long-term health and wellness. Develop strategies to overcome barriers to lifestyle change.

Session 2: Dive deeper into the multifaceted roles of estrogen and progesterone. Understand how these hormones impact mood, sleep, and weight. Discuss how to proactively approach these symptoms from an evidence based and holistic perspective.

Session 3: Get a comprehensive overview of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Bust common myths, review the latest research, and discover how to optimize the benefits of lifestyle changes to feel your best.

Session 4: In depth discussion of the role that testosterone therapy plays in women’s health. Review the current research and guidelines, clinical indications, and safety.

Mellow Movements: Yoga for All with Joyce, Medical Assistant and Certified Yoga Instructor

Join us for our Mellow Movements: Yoga For All, a welcoming and inclusive class designed for those new to yoga or with limited mobility. This gentle yet invigorating series combines the benefits of yoga, stretching, and light movement to help you feel more confident and connected to your body.

In the first half of the class, we’ll utilize chairs for supportive stretches and gentle poses that enhance flexibility and promote relaxation. No prior experience is necessary—your friendly instructor Joyce will guide you through each movement, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and included.

As we transition into the second half, you’ll have the option to stand and engage in easy, mindful movements that build strength and balance. This part of the class encourages you to explore your body’s capabilities while fostering a sense of empowerment.

Our goal is to create a nurturing community where you can connect, share, and support one another on your wellness journeys. Together, we’ll cultivate confidence in ourselves and our abilities, celebrating every step of progress. Come join us for a fun and fulfilling experience that honors your journey toward movement and well-being!

Active Management of Persistent Pain with Dr. Kathy Alvarez and Dr. Ken Sewell

Active Management of Persistent Pain (AMPP) is a Team Group Visit designed to empower you to have more control over your pain and your life. By learning about pain and how it works, you can change your relationship with pain, leading to less suffering and more valued living.

AMPP will highlight specific strategies that have been proven to impact persistent pain and over time, help to increase your function and quality of life.

These 75 minute sessions will be provided by a PhD Pain Psychologist with over 15 yrs of pain management and consultation experience…along with the participation of Dr. Kathy Alvarez, MD.

AMPP combines the best of behavioral pain management and pain neuroscience education to give you a full toolbox for managing your pain. You will learn how to be more active in managing pain, retrain your nervous system to reduce pain and most importantly, build a path to creating a more meaning-filled life.
