Dr. Moses Ijaz

Dr. Moses Ijaz first matriculated with degrees in History and Philosophy from the University of Chicago. He then moved to New York City where he worked as an editorial assistant while completing his premedical studies at Columbia University. He holds an osteopathic medical degree from Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was a classmate of Drs. Cynthia Gulick and Jill Russell.

He completed his internship at Michigan Osteopathic Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan and his psychiatry residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has decades of clinical, administrative and teaching experience.

Dr. Ijaz recently moved from Columbus, Ohio where he was the lead in his department for Women's Mental Health, Gender Affirming Care for LGBTQ, Chronic Pain and Neuromodulation with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. He participated in the Ethics and Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association. 

He is now a Staff Psychiatrist with Providence Portland Medical Center, providing consultation and inpatient services. He sees patients at SW Family Physicians in his spare hours and is excited about being part of a smaller team.

 Outside of work he hopes to resume his advocacy promoting healthcare access and delivery. He resides in Portland with his husband and husky and is happy to return to the Pacific Northwest where he spent some of his childhood. He is especially eager to reunite with friends living in the Greater Portland area.
